Bandi Sanjay calls Modi’s 11-year rule a ‘Golden Era’

Date:

Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar hailed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 11-year tenure as a “golden era” of governance, marked by record development, comprehensive welfare reforms, and India’s emergence on the global stage.

Addressing the media in Tirupati on Wednesday, Bandi Sanjay contrasted the NDA government’s performance with what he described as the corruption-ridden and appeasement-driven rule of the previous UPA regime. He urged people to evaluate the transformation by comparing the Modi-led administration’s achievements with the UPA’s track record.

He pointed out that India’s GDP had doubled from USD 2 trillion in 2014 to USD 4 trillion under Modi’s leadership, elevating the country from 11th to 4th place in global rankings. Bandi Sanjay credited this growth to Modi’s visionary leadership, which earned him an unprecedented third consecutive mandate. He said the country’s strides in infrastructure, agriculture, healthcare, defence, and technology were being acknowledged globally.

Highlighting Andhra Pradesh’s gains under the NDA government, the Union Minister said the state received unprecedented support despite financial constraints. He rejected criticism of the double-engine government model and said Andhra Pradesh had benefited more than any other state.

He cited the expansion of welfare schemes like direct benefit transfers, healthcare access through Ayushman Bharat, financial inclusion, and food security, among others. The Centre allocated Rs 95,500 crore in tax and non-tax revenue and Rs 30,334 crore as direct assistance to the state in 2024–25—263 percent higher than allocations during the UPA era. Additionally, Rs 5,604 crore was sanctioned under the “Special Assistance for Capital Investment” scheme.
