Date:

The Congress party is set to hold a major meeting of its OBC (Other Backward Classes) leaders at the Talkatora Stadium in New Delhi on Friday, with a special focus on the social, educational, and economic upliftment of backward communities across the country.

The meeting will see participation from a wide array of Congress leaders, including PCC Chief Mahesh Kumar Goud, BC Ministers, MLAs, MPs, MLCs, Corporation Chairmen, former legislators, DCC Presidents, and heads of BC-affiliated groups. Leaders from the Youth Congress, NSUI, Library Society, Market Committees, BC intellectuals, and various caste group representatives will also be attending.

The event will be marked by addresses from key national leaders.

Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi will be the main speakers. Rahul Gandhi is expected to provide direction on launching a strong and united OBC movement aimed at empowering oppressed communities and ensuring greater inclusion.

A crucial part of the meeting will be the deliberation on the role of BC leaders in building awareness and unity among OBC communities nationwide. Telangana’s Congress BC leaders will also use this platform to engage in discussions with Rahul Gandhi regarding BC reservations and the future political roadmap for backward classes in the state, a party statement said.
