President Droupadi Murmu, during her whirlwind tour to the silver city of Cuttack on Wednesday, visited Cuttack Maa Chandi Temple, the birthplace of Madhusudan Das and also the birthplace of freedom fighter Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, which has been converted into a national Museum.
The President left for Cuttack from Raj Bhawan in Bhubaneswar Wednesday morning and went to the famous Chandi temple, performed puja, and offered prayers to Maa Chandi.
She then went to the birthplace of Utkal Gourav Madhusudan Das and offered floral tribute at the statue of Madhusudan Das, a great freedom fighter of the state.
Murmu also visited the Janakinath Bhawan, the ancestral house of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose located at Oriya Bazar in Cuttack city, which has been converted into the Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Museum.
She went around the museum and offered a floral tribute at the statue of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose.
The President then went to Jawaharlal Indoor Stadium to address the 75th foundation day celebration of the Orissa High Court.
During the day, the President will also grace the convocation of the National Law University, Cuttack, and attend the annual function of SCB Medical College and Hospital.
