Manipur Police and security forces arrested five persons allegedly members of three different Manipur based outfits in three separate operations during the last 24 hours.
Police said two militants were held from Napetpalli Andra Road near Nongdam village under Lamlai-PS, Imphal East District. They were involved in extortion activities for raising their party fund from every vehicle plying at Napetpalli Andro Road.
Manipur police arrested two militants who were nabbed from Salam Mamang Leikai Ketuki Lampak under Patsoi-PS, Imphal West District. The arrested persons were involved in extortion activities. In another operation security forces arrested one militant from Imphal East District.
Operations were conducted at Thoubal and Imphal West districts. During the operation at Khongnangpokpi area under Sekmai-PS, Imphal West District one .303 Rifle, three Pompi Gun were recovered. In another operation at Lilong Chaobok Khuman area under Lilong-PS, Thoubal District live round, Local made 12 Bore Rifle and other materials were recovered.
