Union Jal Shakti Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat accused Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot of retracting his statement out of fear after a PIL was filed.
Shekhawat questioned Gehlot’s claim that his statement was not his personal opinion, stating that it was indeed his opinion and that he had damaged the trust between the public and the judiciary.
Shekhawat further alleged that Gehlot purposely created controversy for political reasons and to protect those who are out on bail.
Gehlot had initially claimed that there is corruption in the courts and that lawyers write the court decisions, but later clarified that it was not his personal opinion.
A PIL has also been filed regarding Gehlot’s statement.
