LS polls: Amit Shah to participate in road show in Karnataka

Date:

Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah has a busy schedule planned for his day-long visit to Karnataka, which includes participating in a road show scheduled for Tuesday.

Shah’s visit to Karnataka will focus on bolstering the BJP’s presence, discussing electoral strategies, and engaging with citizens ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha election.

He will begin his day by addressing the Sakti Kendra Pramukh Sammelan at Palace Ground in Bengaluru. The event aims to strengthen grassroots leadership and organisational strength ahead of the Lok Sabha polls.

Following the Sammelan, the Home Minister will convene a Core Group Meeting of the BJP in Bengaluru, which will focus on discussing key policy matters and strategies for the region.

Shah will then lead a road show from Chikkamalur to DT Ramu Circle, Channapatna in Karnataka’s Ramanagara district. It aims at engaging with citizens and highlighting the government’s initiatives.

The BJP has fielded candidates in 25 Lok Sabha constituencies and has left three other seats for its ally JDS in the state.

Notably, CN Manjunath, the son-in-law of JDS patriarch HD Deve Gowda, will contest from the Bengaluru Rural constituency against DK Suresh, brother of Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar.

The Lok Sabha election in Karnataka was scheduled to be held in two phases on April 26 and May 7 for 28 constituencies.
