Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla-led the parliamentarians in paying rich tributes to former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi on his birth anniversary here on Saturday.
The Speaker paid floral tributes at the potrait of the former PM in the Central Hall of the Parliament.
Congress MPs Mallikarjun Kharge, KC Venugopal, Jairam Ramesh and Rajeev Shukla and several others were also present on the occasion.
Earlier in the day, Congress MP Rahul Gandhi and party’s general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra along with Robert Vadra payed homage to the former PM at Veer Bhumi here.
Taking to twitter, Rahul remembering his father and the former PM wrote, “Papa you are with me every moment in my heart. I will always try to fulfill the dream which you dreamt for the country.”
