People’s verdict saved the constitution of India: Farooq

Date:

National Conference President Farooq Abdullah on Friday said that people declared their verdict with the power of vote and saved the constitution of India.

“The people showed that they kept the power and proved it with the vote which is a big success”, Farooq told media persons in Srinagar.

He said the people declared their verdict with the power of vote and saved the constitution of India.

“The people have nothing, but the vote with which they uplift a person and fall down, they proved it”, the former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister said.

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) claims to achieve “400 seats,” it is ultimately the people who hold the power, he said.

Farooq said that the exit poll should be discontinued. “They Exit Poll people should close their shops and seek forgiveness for spreading misunderstandings among the people”, the NC President said.

When asked about NDA forming the government, Farooq said “will say nothing. Let the government be formed. When it will be formed everybody will see”.

To another question whether the NDA government would be successful, Farooq said “you people are in the media, let you see and I will also see it…let us wait..why are you in a little bit hurry”.

He said the opposition in the Parliament would be stronger this time.

Farooq said that “in the parliament where I was, the opposition was very weak and nobody was listening to us as there was dictatorship running”.

“The dictatorship has now ended ..thanks to the Almighty”, he added.
