Date:

Sudanese Transitional Prime Minister Kamil Idris has dissolved the government, Sudanese state news agency SUNA has reported.

Idris informed the government staff of the decision to dissolve the cabinet and assign the secretaries-general and undersecretaries of ministries to run the government’s duties until a new government is formed, according to the report published on Sunday.

Idris was sworn in as Sudan’s first prime minister since the 2021 military-led coup on Saturday. In a Sunday address, Idris pledged to maintain neutrality among political factions and prioritize stability, security and reconstruction.
