Agartala, 5th July 2025:  In a bold escalation of the ongoing crime spree across Bishalgarh subdivision, unidentified miscreants broke into the BJP party office in Uttar Brajapur under Charilam Assembly constituency late last night triggering widespread alarm among residents.

According to local sources, the thieves forcibly entered the office premises, breaking the lock and making off with a television set and essential furniture. The incident came to light Saturday morning when BJP workers arrived to find the office ransacked and the main door lock shattered.

Bishalgarh police station staff were immediately informed and rushed to the scene to begin an investigation. The break-in has sparked concern across the locality, with many questioning the deteriorating law and order situation. “If thieves can dare to loot the ruling party’s office, what safety do ordinary citizens have?” remarked a local resident.

Theft incidents have reportedly surged in the Uttar Brajapur area, with solar light batteries and other public utilities frequently disappearing. Party workers allege that a section of drug-addicted youths is behind the string of thefts. These individuals, they claim, roam the alleys during the day to scout targets and strike under the cover of darkness.

Civic groups and concerned citizens have voiced frustration over the growing influence of narcotics in the region. “Until the illegal drug trade is curbed, such antisocial activities will continue unchecked,” said a local social activist.
