Agartala, 8th July 2025: A one-day special awareness program aimed at promoting the central initiative “Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao” and advocating for a drug-free Tripura was held today at Ekalavya English Medium School in Kumarghat. The event brought together local officials, educators, and community members committed to women’s empowerment and youth welfare.
The program was ceremonially inaugurated by local MLA Bhagaban Chandra Das, who lit the traditional lamp to mark the occasion. Das was accompanied by District Social Welfare and Social Education Department officer Vidyasagar Debbarma, the school’s headmaster and several invited dignitaries.
Addressing the gathering, MLA Das emphasized the government’s commitment to uplifting the status of girls and women through various central schemes. He highlighted Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s initiatives, particularly the “Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao” mission, stating that such programs are designed to ensure girls are seen as assets, not burdens.
“Through these efforts, women across the nation are progressing with confidence,” said Das, adding that the current administration continues to implement policies that strengthen women’s roles in society.
