Agartala, 17th June 2025:   The Tripura Pradesh Trinamool Congress will stage a dharna in front of the City Center here on July 28 protesting against rising prices of essential commodities, the installation of smart meters and the hike in water tax. The announcement was made by Youth TMC President Santanu Saha during a press conference today.

Saha accused the BJP-led government of neglecting basic civic infrastructure under the guise of the Smart City initiative, citing deteriorating roads, uncovered drains, and inflated utility bills. He claimed these issues are burdening citizens without offering tangible improvements.

Addressing another concern, Saha condemned the alleged targeting of the Bengali community in BJP-ruled states over illegal infiltration. While supporting action against unlawful entry, he urged the Chief Minister to intervene and ensure that no community is unfairly singled out.

He also noted that the Trinamool Congress is actively expanding its organizational base across various subdivisions in the state.
