Agartala, 21st July 2025:   Tripura Police destroyed seven illegal cannabis nurseries hidden in the forested northern outskirts of Kalikhola ADC Village under Jatrapur police station this morning.

Acting on a tip-off, a team led by Senior Sub-Inspectors Amar Kishore Debbarma and Pritam Datta hiked nearly two kilometres through rugged terrain to reach the site. The team, comprising ten personnel including TSR and SPO jawans, uprooted and destroyed thousands of cannabis saplings using batons.

Although the individuals responsible for cultivating the illegal plantations remain unidentified, police sources indicated that surveillance and similar operations will continue in the coming weeks as part of a broader crackdown on narcotics in the region.

Despite the absence of an Officer-in-Charge (OC) at the station, four sub-inspectors are currently managing police personnel and intensifying anti-drug operations in the area.
