Agartala, 22nd July 2025:  In yet another incident of theft targeting religious establishments, a miscreant brazenly broke into the donation box of Sri Sri Ram Thakur Seba Mandir in Sonamura town today at around 9 AM and fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.

According to temple authorities, CCTV footage revealed that the accused entered the premises in the morning and spent considerable time attempting to force open the donation box. Moments before the temple priest arrived, the thief escaped through a rear exit.

The temple administration promptly lodged a complaint with Sonamura Police Station. Law enforcement officers visited the site and assured that an investigation is underway. Officials are currently working to determine the stolen amount, which remains unknown.

Temple representatives expressed concern over the recurring thefts at religious places and alleged that the incident highlights ongoing administrative lapses. They urged authorities to swiftly identify the culprit based on CCTV visuals and take appropriate action.

Sources indicate that a section of local youth allegedly under the influence of intoxicants has been involved in similar disturbances at places of worship in recent times, prompting calls for greater vigilance and community-based intervention.
