Agartala, 26th July 2025:   In yet another alarming incident, a helpless family in Kadamtala fell victim to a daring robbery late last night.

The crime took place around 1 AM in Ward No. 5 of the Ichai Lalchhara Gram Panchayat under Kadamtala Police Station. Eyewitness accounts reveal that four to five armed robbers broke through the rear door of the residence shared by local resident Subrata Kumar Resh and his nephew Abhijit Debroy, who were asleep at the time.

The intruders allegedly tied and assaulted the victims before ransacking the house. They fled with approximately Rs 67,000 in cash, 3–4 bhori of gold jewelry, and two Android mobile phones. After the assailants left, the victims managed to free themselves and raise an alarm at a neighboring house.

The commotion quickly drew neighbors to the scene, and a report was filed with Kadamtala police. Senior officers arrived this morning and initiated an investigation.

Local sources claim the robbers were searching for a home belonging to a local teacher, believed to be one Asit Master. When they failed to obtain a clear address, they allegedly responded with further physical abuse suggesting a premeditated plan.

Residents are expressing deep concern over what they describe as the growing boldness of criminals and the inadequate response from law enforcement. Many note a surge in theft and robbery incidents across North Tripura whether in broad daylight or during night hours.

According to civic voices, the role of the intelligence department has become increasingly symbolic, lacking meaningful action. The brazen nature of recent crimes has left citizens both worried and frustrated.
