Agartala, 28th July 2025: The North Tripura district police arrested two individuals allegedly involved in a daring robbery that took place at Kadamtala within two days of the incident.
According to police sources, late night of Juky 25 last, a group of miscreants raided the residence of Subrata Kumar S, located in Ward No. 5 of Ichai Lalchhara Gram Panchayat under Kadamtala Police Station. The gang looted gold ornaments and cash after reportedly threatening the family members.
Acting promptly, Kadamtala Police under the leadership of Additional SP and SDPO Dharmanagar with support from Tripura State Rifles (TSR) personnel launched an intensive investigation. By last night, the team arrested two suspects from their respective homes.
The arrested have been identified as Kampu Shukla Das (28) from Mahadev Bari in South Urua and Jamir Ali (47) from Palpara in South Kadamtala. The case has been registered under Kadamtala police station number 2025KDLO41 dated July 26, 2025, U/S-331(4)/309(4)BNS.
“The accused were produced in court today. We are seeking remand for further interrogation. Preliminary questioning suggests involvement of 2–3 additional individuals. Efforts are underway to identify and arrest them,” said a senior officer from Kadamtala Police Station.
While the stolen valuables are yet to be recovered, the police remain optimistic about uncovering the full details of the case. “We’re confident that the remaining accused will be arrested soon and the entire operation exposed,” the officer added.
Sources confirmed that both arrests were made from the suspects’ residences. The incident follows another recent success where Khowai police managed to recover a stolen motorbike from Bangladesh, further reinforcing public belief in law enforcement’s renewed vigor.
