Mega blood donation and eye check-up camp held at North DM office

Agartala, 30th July 2025:   In a spirited initiative to promote community health, the North Tripura district administration today inaugurated a mega blood donation and eye check-up camp on the premises of the District Magistrate’s office in Dharmanagar. The event began at 11 AM with District President Aparna Nath lighting the ceremonial lamp, symbolizing the collective commitment to public welfare.

Although organizers set an ambitious goal of collecting 100 units of blood, the camp concluded at 4:30 PM with 61 donors stepping forward including seven women. Simultaneously, 81 individuals availed of the free eye check-up services with 20 receiving spectacles at no cost.

Speaking at the event, North Tripura District Magistrate IAS Chandni Chandran commended the community’s active participation. “Health is not just a personal concern, but a shared responsibility. Today’s turnout reflects Dharmanagar’s growing awareness and empathy,” she said.

District Superintendent of Police Avinash Rai echoed similar sentiments, noting, “Blood donation is a life-saving act. We must encourage such participation throughout the year.”

Municipal Council Chairperson Mitali Rani Das Sen added, “By integrating eye care into this camp, we’re addressing vital yet often overlooked aspects of wellness. We hope this initiative sets a precedent for future health drives.”

The event was also attended by SDM Sajal Debnath, Chief Health Officer Dr. Dipak Halder, ADM PP Er Dalang, Vice Chairman of the Municipal Council Manju Rani Nath, District Program Officer Dr. S. Roy, ADM Bijoy Sinha and other administrative and health department
