Three engineering students killed, two injured in road accident

 Three engineering college students were killed and two others injured when an autorickshaw collided with a stationary truck under town police station here this morning.

According to police , students from Shivsona Engineering College in Lakhisarai district were travelling in an autorickshaw to catch a train at Lakhisarai railway station. Near Nongarh check post, the autorickshaw rammed into a parked truck on the roadside, leading to the fatal accident.

Three students died on the spot, while two others sustained serious injuries. The deceased have been identified as Pankaj Kumar and Saroj Kumar from Samastipur district, and Sahil Kumar from Chandi area of Nalanda district.

The injured students — Ankit Gupta from Siwan and Ajit Yadav — were rushed to Sadar Hospital in Lakhisarai. Ankit was later referred to Patna for advanced treatment.

Police reached the site soon after the accident and sent the bodies for post-mortem. The families of the deceased have been informed.
