Agartala, 5th August 2025: Tragedy struck at Thakur Para Chowmuhani this evening when a youth identified as Mithun Banik reportedly died after falling from his motorcycle under unexplained circumstances.
According to local sources, Banik, a resident of Sonamura Math Para and owner of a jewellery shop under Sonamura Police Station was en route to a local fair around 5 pm. While riding alone, he collapsed from his bike near Chowmuhani prompting eyewitnesses to immediately alert the Melaghar Fire Service.
Responders arrived swiftly and transported Banik to Melaghar Hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead on arrival. Witnesses claimed Banik appeared to tremble moments before losing control of the bike, although no visible injuries were detected on his body.
Preliminary assumptions suggest the possibility of a stroke; however, authorities await post-mortem results to confirm the exact cause of death.
