The ILS in the press statement said that Biswabandhu Sen, 70, was brought to ILS Hospital, Agartala, on the evening of 8th August 2025 after suddenly losing consciousness while waiting to travel in a train at Agartala railway station.

“He had first been taken to TMC Hospital, where scans revealed an internal brain haemorrhage with significant compression. Later, with several considerations, he was transferred to ILSA Hospital on the same day. The procedure was successfully carried out, and Mr. Sen was shifted to the Surgical Intensive Care Unit for advanced post-operative care”, the statement said.

It said that on 9th August, Biswabandhu Sen remained on ventilator support with stable vital parameters. His neurological responses showed some movement, and his pupils were reactive to light, though sluggish. Overnight, his blood pressure stayed within a stable range, with systolic readings between 130-150 mm Hg and diastolic readings between 80-85 mmHg. His oxygen levels and blood gas reports were satisfactory, and his urine output remained adequate.
