Agartala, 3rd September 2025 : In a significant administrative overhaul, the Government of Tripura issued orders for the transfer and posting of over a dozen Indian Administrative Service (IAS) and Tripura Civil Service (TCS) officers across the state.
The reshuffle, ordered by the Governor in the “interest of public service,” affects key positions in district administration, municipal governance, and state departments.
The major changes, notified by the General Administration (Personnel & Training) Department, see officers being moved between sub-divisional magistrates’ posts, district collectorates, and state-run corporations.
In a series of rotational postings, several officers have been appointed as new Sub-Divisional Magistrates (SDMs) who will also serve as Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) of their respective Municipal Councils.
Apurba Krishna Chakraborty has been promoted from Additional SDM of Teliamura to the full SDM and CEO of Teliamura Municipal Council, Sanjib Chakma moves from the Joint Director of Information & Cultural Affairs to become the SDM of Santirbazar, Binki Saha has been recalled from her post as Joint Resident Commissioner in Guwahati and appointed as the SDM of Bishalgarh.
Debjani Choudhury has been elevated from Additional SDM of Bishalgarh to SDM of Dharmanagar. The outgoing SDM of Santirbazar, Manoj Kumar Saha, will now take over as Joint Director of Information & Cultural Affairs in Agartala, swapping posts with Sanjib Chakma.
The reshuffle also impacted administrative roles within district collectorates and state corporations including Dwij Goel (IAS)**, the former SDM of Ambassa, has been appointed as the Officer on Special Duty (OSD) to the District Magistrate & Collector of West Tripura, Ringku Reang will succeed him as the new SDM and CEO of Ambassa Municipal Council, Subrata Kumar Dash moves from ADM & Collector (PP) of Dhalai District to become Joint Director of Industries and Commerce and OSD of TIDC Ltd., with the additional charge of Managing Director of the Tripura Tea Development Corporation Ltd. Partha Das will take over his former position in Dhalai. Rakesh Chakraborty, the former SDM of Bishalgarh, has been posted as Senior Deputy Magistrate in the DM’s office of Gomati District.
The Tripura Bhavan in Guwahati will also see a change in leadership. Homagni Bhattacharjee (TCS Gr-II) has been transferred from the Dhalai District Collector’s office to take up the role of Deputy Resident Commissioner.
The orders state that all transfers are effective immediately and until further orders. The concerned officers have been directed to hand over their charges to the new incumbents promptly.
