Agartala, 3rd September 2025 : MLA and Deputy Speaker Ram Prasad Pal today launched a scathing attack on the previous Left Front government.

He alleged that qualified candidates were denied jobs while incompetent individuals were recruited, and in many cases, jobs were even “sold.”

He inaugurated the Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Market Stall, constructed with 16 stalls at the Ramthakur Ashram CC Road bypass, adjacent to Malaynagar Gram Panchayat.

The facility has been set up to create employment opportunities for the unemployed. The BDO of the block, the chairman and panchayat members were present during the programme.

He cited the case of 10,323 teachers, whose appointments were later terminated by court orders due to alleged irregularities in recruitment.

“The previous government gave jobs illegally, and as a result, thousands lost their livelihoods following court verdicts. But our government does not follow such practices. Only deserving candidates are getting jobs purely on the basis of merit,” Pal said.

He further added that the present government is committed to supporting unemployed youth through various welfare schemes and projects. “For those who may not secure government jobs, opportunities like this market stall will help them become self-reliant through business,” the MLA said.

The Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Market Stall is expected to provide a source of income for many unemployed youths, helping them sustain their livelihood through small-scale business ventures.
