Agartala, 15th September 2025:  Utkarshi Majumdar, a promising young artist from the rural town of Chailengta in Tripura’s Dhalai district has earned national recognition by being shortlisted for the prestigious Cultural Talent Search Scholarship Scheme (CTSSS) administered by the Centre for Cultural Resources and Training (CCRT) under India’s Ministry of Culture.

Currently a Class IX student at Holy Cross High School, Chailengta, Utkarshi is the daughter of businessman Debasish Majumdar and nursing officer Mangala Singh Roy. Her selection places her among the country’s most talented young artists, marking a significant milestone in her artistic journey.

Despite the challenges of growing up in a remote region, Utkarshi’s dedication, creativity, and relentless passion for art have propelled her to this achievement. Her success is also attributed to the unwavering support of her parents and the guidance of her art teacher, who played a crucial role in nurturing her talent.

This accomplishment is not only a personal triumph for Utkarshi but also a moment of pride for Chailengta and the entire state of Tripura, highlighting the rich potential that thrives in India’s rural heartlands.
