Agartala, 16th September 2025: Tragedy struck in the Tepania area of Udaipur on Tuesday afternoon when a 10-year-old boy, identified as Rajdeep Debnath, drowned while bathing in a pond with two friends.
According to local sources, the children had gone to bathe when suddenly Rajdeep went missing. Moments later, his friends noticed him floating in the water and raised an alarm. Hearing their screams, nearby residents rushed to the spot, pulled the child out of the pond, and immediately shifted him to Gomti District Hospital.
Doctors at the hospital declared Rajdeep brought dead. His body has been sent to the hospital morgue for post-mortem, after which it will be handed over to the family.
The incident has cast a pall of grief over the locality, with family members and neighbours breaking down upon receiving the heartbreaking news.
