Agartala, July 22, 2022: Tripura State Electricity Corporation Limited (TSECL) on Friday confirmed that the electricity’s corporate office in Agartala never sends any link to any of its consumer for realization of outstanding energy bills.
TSECL in a press communique stated that it has come to the knowledge of the TSECL management that some miscreants are doing cybercrime with the valued consumers of TSECL in the name of outstanding Energy Bill realization.
“In this regard, it is clarified that no one from TSECL sends any link to any consumer of TSECL for realization of outstanding Energy Bill(s). Moreover, TSECL employees never call over phone to any of its consumer for payment of outstanding Energy Bill(s). However, in the event of outstanding bills, sub-division offices of TSECL make announcements through mike for awareness of general people of the concerned areas. Moreover, prior to disconnection of the electricity connections, proper notices are served to the consumers as per the Electricity Act, 2003,” the statement reads.The Corporation’s office also informed that the consumers of TSECL should not entertain any such fraud phone call and/or web links to protect themselves from any kind of cybercrimes.
