Agartala, 8th October 2025 : The much-anticipated three-day Diwali Fair and Festival is set to light up the Mata Tripura Sundari Temple from October 20 to 22, officials announced today. The festival promises a vibrant celebration, blending devotion, culture, and community spirit.
Preparations for the grand event were meticulously discussed at a Diwali Fair and Festival Committee meeting held at the Gomati District Administration’s conference hall. The meeting was chaired by State Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Roy, who emphasized creating a smooth, safe, and enjoyable experience for all pilgrims and visitors.
Minister Singha Roy called for coordinated efforts among all departments and organizations to ensure a memorable celebration. Highlighting the festival’s cultural richness, he shared that a lineup of renowned artists from both within and outside the state will perform, while stalls showcasing developmental initiatives by various government departments will also be featured.
“The Mata Tripura Sundari Temple will be resplendently decorated with lights, and comprehensive security arrangements have been put in place. To oversee the smooth conduct of the fair, a monitoring committee has been formed under the chairmanship of MLA Abhishek Debroy, supported by 14 sub-committees managing different aspects of the festival,” the Minister added.
The preparatory meeting was attended by notable dignitaries, including Chairman Debal Debroy, MLAs Abhishek Debroy and Jitendra Majumdar, Udaipur Municipal Council Chairperson Sheetal Chandra Majumdar, Additional District Magistrate Jayanta Chakraborty, and representatives from various government departments.
The administration has assured residents and visitors that all measures are being taken to ensure the festival is both safe and joyous, promising an event filled with devotion, entertainment, and cultural splendor.
