Agartala, 10th October 2025 :  A special awareness campaign highlighting the harmful effects of noise pollution was jointly organized today by the NSS Unit of Women’s College and the Tripura State Pollution Control Board.

As part of the initiative, NSS volunteers from the college distributed informative leaflets at various busy intersections and public areas across the city. The primary objective of the campaign was to educate the general public about the severe consequences of excessive noise pollution.

Volunteers emphasized that loud firecrackers, DJ music, and other high-decibel activities during festivals, celebrations, and promotional events are increasingly disrupting daily life. They noted that such disturbances negatively impact students preparing for exams and pose serious health risks to individuals with heart conditions. Participants also pointed out that prolonged exposure to high noise levels can impair cognitive functions over time.

The campaign concluded with a collective appeal to the public to take proactive steps in curbing noise pollution and fostering a healthier urban environment.
