Agartala, 14th October 2025: Tension gripped the Chakmaghat area of Teliamura this morning after the body of a young man was found under suspicious circumstances near the local ferry ghat.
Local residents first spotted the unconscious youth lying beside the road and immediately alerted Teliamura Police Station. A large police team led by Officer-in-Charge Jayanta Kumar Dey arrived at the scene and recovered the body.
The deceased has been identified as Bhajan Debnath, aged approximately 35. His body was sent to Teliamura Sub-Divisional Hospital for post-mortem examination. Forensic experts from Agartala have been called in to assist with the investigation.
Family members of the deceased have alleged that Bhajan was murdered in a premeditated attack, asserting that his death could not have occurred naturally.
Police have stated that the investigation is ongoing and the exact cause of death will be confirmed following the forensic report.
