Agartala, 16th October 2025:  Tripura Leader of Opposition Jitendra Chaudhury today launched a scathing attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), alleging that the party’s primary goal is to hand over the nation’s resources and land to corporate interests under the guise of establishing a “Hindu Rashtra.”

Speaking at the Dasarath Debbarma Memorial Lecture held at Muktadhara Hall in Agartala, the CPI(M) leader warned that the BJP’s actions were posing serious threats to India’s unity and constitutional integrity.

Taking a jibe at former Tipra Motha chief Pradyot Kishore Manikya Debbarma, Chaudhury referred to Pradyot’s recent statement that a tribal leader would become Tripura’s Chief Minister by 2028. “He says such a Chief Minister is needed to safeguard the existence of tribal people. But the real question is—what is the basis of this claim, and how realistic is it in today’s political scenario?” he asked.

Chaudhury further pointed out that since the inception of the Tipra Motha, Pradyot had popularized several slogans like ‘Greater Tipraland,’ ‘One Last Fight, No Compromise,’ and ‘Tiprasa Agreement.’ “However, those slogans have now faded into irrelevance, and people have begun to forget them,” he remarked.

Accusing the BJP of implementing polices that have worsened the economic distress of ordinary citizens, Chaudhury said that growing financial insecurity has forced many to protest on the streets.

“The people of India must act responsibly to protect their interests and uphold the nation’s constitutional and democratic values amid the current political, social, and economic challenges,” he urged.
