Government to Take Legal Action Against Those Obstructing Development Works: Agartala Mayor

Agartala, 17th October 2025:   Mayor Dipak Majumder has warned that the government will take strict legal action against anyone creating obstacles to development projects. He emphasized that there will be no compromise when it comes to the city’s progress.

The Mayor made this statement on Friday while inspecting areas where drainage construction work under the Agartala Smart City Project had been obstructed.

During his visit to the Ashram Chowmuhani area, Mayor Majumder reviewed the ongoing drainage construction work and held discussions with officials from the concerned departments.

Speaking to reporters, Majumder said the government is determined to take all necessary steps to push Agartala toward development. “If needed, legal measures will be taken to ensure smooth progress of the projects,” he stated.

He further added that the administration is committed to completing all Smart City works efficiently and within the stipulated time. With the cooperation of citizens, Agartala is expected to transform into a clean, modern city, the Mayor expressed optimistically.

Majumder also mentioned that the ongoing renovation and development projects in the capital are expected to be completed within the next seven to eight months.
