Agartala, 18th October 2025: Members of the Students’ Federation of India (SFI) Tripura State Committee held a protest march and street meeting here today, opposing the recent hike in examination fees announced by the Tripura Board of Secondary Education.
The rally began near Chhatra-Yuva Bhavan, Melamarth here and passed through key city roads before culminating at Paradise Chowmuhani, where a public meeting was held. SFI leaders criticized the Board’s October 9 decision to increase fees across six categories for secondary and higher secondary exams.
On October 10, SFI had submitted a memorandum to the Director of Education demanding the rollback of the revised fee structure, giving a seven-day deadline. With no response, the organization renewed its protest through today’s mobilization. Several student groups have also voiced opposition to the fee hike.
