Daring theft at Pratapgarh: Rs 11.8 lakh stolen from vacant home

Agartala, 21st October 2025:  A major theft has rocked the Jagatpalli area of Pratapgarh, where burglars broke into the residence of local resident Ramu Saha and fled with Rs 11.8 lakh in cash.

According to preliminary reports, the break-in took place late last night while the house was unoccupied. Taking advantage of the situation, the thieves forcibly entered the premises and looted cash stored in a cupboard. Upon returning the next morning, the homeowner discovered the lock broken, the cupboard ransacked, and the money missing.

East Agartala police station staff rushed to the scene following the report and had launched an investigation. Meanwhile, local residents have voiced strong concerns over deteriorating security in the area and are demanding the immediate arrest of those responsible.
