Agartala, 21st October 2025:  In a heartwarming display of communal harmony, the annual worship of Goddess Shyama (Kali) in Tholi Bari’s commercial district once again saw participation and support from people of all faiths and backgrounds. Among the most notable contributors was Yusuf Mia, a resident of Ledrabari village in Kalikhola ADC area, who has been donating the idol for the past five years.

This year, too, Yusuf Mia continued his tradition by purchasing the idol for Rs 3,200 from the Kathalia commercial area, ensuring that local traders in Tholi Bari could carry out the Diwali festivities without financial strain.

Speaking to this reporter, Yusuf Mia shared his motivation: “Though I am a Muslim, I wholeheartedly support the Hindu community’s Kali Puja. Years ago, I saw Shyama Ma in a dream, and since then, I’ve found peace in contributing to the celebrations—not alone, but as part of a shared social responsibility.”

He emphasized that his gesture stems from a belief in unity: “We are all human. Strengthening the bond of harmony across caste, creed, and religion is the true desire of our rural community.”

Local traders expressed their gratitude, saying Yusuf Mia’s contribution has become a symbol of unity and mutual respect in the region. His act during Diwali continues to inspire others and reinforce the spirit of togetherness.
