Agartala: January 24. The office of the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) has suspended and initiated disciplinary proceeding against Ajoy Das, Superintendent of Fisheries who is also a Sector Officer of 40-Sabroom Assembly Constituency for applying black colour on poster inside the private shop.
In an order copy undersigned by Additional Chief Electoral Officer U J Mog to DM of South district said the explanation given by Ajoy Das, Superintendent of Fisheries, Sector Officer, 40-Sabroom Assembly Constituency has been perused. “It appears that the Sector Officer Shri Ajoy Das went beyond the provisions of Model Code of Conduct and applied black colour on the poster inside the private shop.
Therefore, it is decided that Shri Ajoy Das, Superintendent of Fisheries, Sector Officer, shall be put under suspension & disciplinary proceeding shall be initiated against him as per provisions of relevant rules”, the letter reads. He was assigned as a sector officer in election work. He entered the shop while working to cover the faces of leaders and ministers in government places and put black paint on the faces of leaders and ministers. Later the BJP was given deputation to the State Election Commission. They demanded that immediate action to be taken against this official.
