Agartala, 5th November 2025:  The Tripura State Council for Science and Technology (TSCST) inaugurated the two-day 8th Student Project Programme today at Pragna Bhavan here with an aim to promote scientific research and technological innovation among students for nation building.

Science and Technology Minister Animesh Debbarma formally inaugurated the event and urged students to nurture a spirit of curiosity and creativity from an early age. “This initiative is part of our effort to bring science closer to students and encourage them to explore small-scale technological innovations,” the minister said, adding that the department is extending financial support to promote such projects.

This year’s theme, “Indigenous Technologies for Sustainable Development,” focuses on integrating traditional knowledge and eco-friendly innovations to achieve long-term growth.

Students from various academic disciplines presented projects developed over the past year, covering diverse topics such as biodiversity conservation, scientific processing of indigenous and organic foods, and sustainable technology applications.

Minister Debbarma highlighted that the state government continues to allocate dedicated funds to encourage student-led research in science and technology. The event also featured interactive sessions and expert discussions aimed at motivating young researchers to contribute to Tripura’s scientific and developmental progress.
