Agartala, 5th November 2025:   A 25-year-old Bangladeshi national, Ziarul Islam, tragically lost his life in a road accident this evening in the Chelikhola area near the Indo-Bangladesh border. The incident occurred while he was en route to seek medical treatment in India with his family.

Local sources informed that Ziarul Islam had arrived from Rahimpur, Bangladesh and was riding a motorcycle bearing registration number TR07D9554 borrowed from a relative. While approaching Chelikhola Bazaar, his bike was struck by a speeding Bolero vehicle bearing registration number TR07D-1753, reportedly transporting goods from the border area. The Bolero allegedly lost control and rammed into the motorcycle with force.

The impact threw Ziarul onto the roadside, where he collided with a milestone, sustaining severe head injuries. Locals immediately alerted the Bishalgarh Fire and Emergency Services, who rushed to the scene and transported the injured youth to Bishalgarh Sub-Divisional Hospital. Despite efforts, the attending doctor declared him dead upon arrival.

Ziarul’s body has been placed in the hospital morgue for further procedures. News of the fatal accident sent shockwaves through his family, who had come from Rahimpur and broke down in grief upon reaching the hospital. Amid tears, relatives expressed disbelief and sorrow, lamenting, “We came to India for treatment, never imagined we would lose him like this.”

Authorities are investigating the incident.
