Woman dies in mysterious fire at Udaipur’s Rajarbagh, police probe underway

Agartala, 6th November 2025:  A 43-year-old woman died under mysterious circumstances after being severely burned in a fire at her residence in Rajarbagh, Udaipur. The incident has sparked widespread concern and speculation, with authorities yet to determine whether it was a case of suicide or foul play.

According to initial reports, the victim’s husband, Shrikrishna Das, had left for his routine morning walk when the tragedy took place. Local residents noticed flames near the entrance of the Das residence and rushed to the scene, where they found Dipti Das engulfed in flames and struggling for help. Witnesses say she managed to stumble out of the house onto the street before collapsing.

Firefighters arrived promptly and shifted her to Gomati District Hospital, where she was declared dead upon arrival.

Police have launched an investigation and sent the body for autopsy to ascertain the exact cause of death. The circumstances surrounding the fire remain unclear, and authorities are exploring all possible angles.

The incident has cast a pall of grief over the Rajarbagh neighborhood. Residents are urging law enforcement to conduct a thorough inquiry to uncover the truth behind Dipti Das’s tragic death.
