Agartala, 10th November 2025 :  Former Tripura Chief Minister and Lok Sabha Member of Parliament Biplab Kumar Deb today launched a sharp attack on West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, accusing her of misgovernance and urging voters to support the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the state.

Speaking at a public gathering, Deb alleged that under Banerjee’s leadership, West Bengal has fallen behind in development, forcing many youths to migrate to other states in search of employment.

“Because of Mamata Banerjee, Bengal is now lagging behind in every field. There was a time when people used to come here for studies and business, but now people are leaving the state,” he said.

Deb also claimed that there is growing discontent within the Trinamool Congress (TMC), saying, “Mamata Banerjee has ‘Bhaipo Baad’ just like the CPI(M) had ‘Marxbaad’. Her nephew is with her only for his personal interest. They both have internal rifts. With money, you can’t build good relationships.”

Urging people to reject both the CPI(M) and the Congress, Deb said, “Voting for CPI(M) and Congress means voting for goondas. Those who are with CPI(M) and Congress should leave and join the BJP — this is the future.”

He also appealed to voters to ensure their names are correctly registered on the electoral rolls. “Everyone must fill up the forms, or else you will lose your right to vote,” he cautioned.

Deb further asserted that BJP workers are dedicated to public service rather than personal gain. “BJP karyakartas work with responsibility and commitment, not for personal benefits,” he said.

The remarks come ahead of the upcoming electoral activities in West Bengal, where the BJP continues to position itself as the main challenger to the ruling Trinamool Congress.
