Traditional Kati dance performances by tea garden artists added colour to the event, along with an awareness drama on preventing child marriage.

Addressing the gathering, Minister Roy highlighted that Jhumur dance has been officially included in the Information and Culture Department’s annual calendar for the first time. He claimed significant development initiatives for tea garden workers in recent years, including over 4,000 land titles, more than 5,000 ration cards, and housing benefits. He noted that workers’ wages have increased from Rs 105 in 2017 to Rs 204 in 2025.

The celebrations will conclude in the evening with a musical night by the Ashra Music Band led by Assam-based DR Lakra.
