Agartala, 17th November 2025: A massive fire broke out early this morning near the Battala crematorium reducing an entire residential house to ashes and sparking panic across the neighborhood.
Local sources informed that the blaze originated in the rented room of Uttam Das, who lives in the house owned by Mintu Debnath. Residents reported seeing smoke billowing from Das’ room around dawn and immediately raised an alarm. Firefighters were alerted and rushed to the spot. At the time of the incident, Das was not inside the house.
Locals said the flames spread rapidly, engulfing the structure within moments. Firefighters managed to bring the blaze under control, but by then the house had been completely gutted. While no casualties were reported, several household items and furniture were destroyed in the fire.
The exact cause of the blaze remains unknown, and authorities are investigating the incident.
