Agartala, 19th November 2025:   Tensions flared in Khumulwng late last night after alleged supporters of coalition partner TIPRA Motha were accused of vandalizing the local BJP party office.

Local BJP leaders said that a group of miscreants stormed the office around midnight and carried out extensive damage. The party claims the attackers were active TIPRA Motha supporters.

Local sources said the incident began when three TIPRA Motha workers were passing near Khumulwng Park. An argument reportedly broke out with BJP workers stationed outside the office, which quickly escalated into a physical altercation. In the aftermath, a group of agitated TIPRA supporters allegedly entered the office and ransacked it.

Furniture inside the office was smashed, and portraits of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chief Minister Manik Saha, and Maharaja Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya Bahadur were also destroyed, police and eyewitnesses confirmed.

Three TIPRA Motha workers sustained injuries during the clash and are currently undergoing treatment at a hospital. The incident has triggered widespread tension in the area. Police have launched an investigation and stepped up security measures to restore order.
