Forest Dept seizes 120 feet of illegal timber in Khowai

Agartala, 20th November 2025:  In a special operation, the Forest Department recovered 120 feet of illegally stored timber from a house in the Khamartilla area under Laxminarayanpur Panchayat in Kalyanpur police station limits.

According to Forest Department sources, a team conducted the raid today morning after receiving a tip-off. Upon searching the house, officials found a large quantity of illegal timber, which was immediately seized. Preparations are underway to file a case against the suspected individual under relevant sections of the Forest Act.

The incident has created a stir in the local area. The Forest Department has stated that more stringent operations will be conducted in the coming days to curb illegal timber trafficking.
