College of Fisheries, Central Agricultural University (Imphal) holds 6-day training program

Agartala, 22nd November 2025:    The College of Fisheries, Central Agricultural University (Imphal), Lembucherra, Tripura organized a six (6) days training programme on “Skill Development in Basic Molecular Biology Methods” under the “DBT-NER Advance Level Institutional Biotech Hub, (Phase II)” project from 17th -22nd November 2025.

The training was attended by 25 nos. of students belonging to College of Agriculture, Tripura, and College of Fisheries, Lembucherra. The main objective of the training was to strengthen the capacity to promote education and research in biology, life sciences and biotechnology.

The coordinator of the project, Dr Wanglar Chimwar, welcomed the participants and dignitaries. Prof. Sagar Chandra Mandal, coordinator of the project briefed about the project and objective of the training. Prof, Arun Bhai Patel, Dean College of Fisheries, Lembucherra CAU (Imphal) addressed the participants and encouraged them to broaden their knowledge on the subject and understand the purpose of the skills they have learned during the training.

Dr Neeraj Kumar, Senior Scientist, ICAR-NIASM, Maharashtra addressed the participants and highlighted the importance of Molecular Biology tools for analyzing several issues in Agriculture and Fisheries.

Dr Chandan Haldar, coordinator of the project, proposed the vote of thanks to the gathering. The programme ended with distribution of the certificates by the dignitaries to the participants.
