Agartala, 3rd December 2025: A three-day Self-Help Group (SHG) Fair and Exhibition, along with cultural programs, commenced this evening at the Panisagar Motor Stand premises under the initiative of Panisagar Nagar Panchayat. The event also includes the Sharad Samman 2025 awards ceremony. The fair will run from December 3 to December 5.
The inaugural ceremony was marked by the lighting of the lamp by Binay Bhushan Das, MLA of Panisagar constituency. The program was presided over by Anuradha Das, Chairperson of Panisagar Nagar Panchayat. Distinguished guests present included Vice-Chairman Dhananjay Debnath, North District Assistant Sabhadhipati Bhabatosh Das, Executive Officer and Sub-Divisional Magistrate Sushanta Debbarma, along with several other dignitaries.
More than fifty Self-Help Groups from the Panisagar Nagar Panchayat area are participating in the fair. The stalls showcase a wide variety of products crafted by women members of SHGs, including traditional handmade delicacies such as pithe-puli and other local cuisines. In addition, several government departments have set up exhibition stalls.
As part of the three-day program, Panisagar Nagar Panchayat will also host a prize distribution ceremony for local Sharad Utsav committees. On the concluding day, December 5, a grand musical evening will feature renowned Kolkata-based artists Niharika Nath and Ramen Halder.
Following the inauguration, dignitaries toured the SHG stalls, appreciating the diverse range of products. The evening concluded with captivating cultural performances by local artists from Panisagar.
