Agartala, 3rd December 2025: The Department of Special Education & Rehabilitation and the Department of Clinical Psychology of ICFAI University Tripura jointly organized an inclusive awareness programme on “Celebrating Abilities towards an Inclusive Tomorrow” on November 28 last at the University campus.
The theme of the event was to foster Disability-Inclusive Societies for advancing social progress for promoting diversity, participation and empowerment for all. The event was organized as a part of celebration of International Day of Persons with Disabilities celebrated worldwide on 3rd December.
The Vice Chancellor Prof.( Dr.) Biplab Halder and the Registrar, Dr. A. Rangnath of the University respectively graced the inaugural programme . While addressing the welcome speech, Prof.(Dr.) Halder emphasized on building the educational ecosystem, where every learner regardless feels valued, supported, and celebrated. He also said that the education institutions now play a crucial role not only to enhance knowledge but also to transform social responsibility. A good number of special children along with their parents actively participated in various fun and recreational games and expressed their happiness to showcase their abilities.
Various psychological tests were also performed by the M. Phil Clinical Psychology students. The event was coordinated by Dr. Silali Banerjee, Principal of Special Education & Rehabilitation department of the University.
