Agartala, 11th December 2025: Unakoti district’s Kanchanbari Primary Health Centre has been awarded the prestigious National Quality Assurance Standards (NQAS) certification this year, marking a significant achievement in public healthcare services.
The centre secured the recognition after successfully meeting the prescribed benchmarks in healthcare quality, infrastructure, patient care, and administrative management. According to health department officials, any facility scoring above 70 percent in the NQAS evaluation qualifies for certification. Kanchanbari PHC surpassed this threshold in the current financial year.
Established in 1978, the health centre has consistently delivered services and undertaken developmental initiatives over the decades, enabling it to achieve a high score in the latest assessment. A central health ministry evaluation team recently inspected the facility to verify service quality, and based on their report, the certification was formally granted.
Dr. Purnendu Roy, the acting medical officer of the centre, described the recognition as the result of the dedication and hard work of all healthcare staff. He congratulated the team and pledged to maintain the same standards in the future.
