Agartala, 16th December 2025:   Patients at the Neurology Department of AGMC & GBP Hospital continue to receive advanced neurological care, bringing renewed hope and improved quality of life. Today three patients—residents of Sonamura, Bishramganj and Dharmanagar—were administered Botulinum Toxin (Botox) injections at GBP Hospital.

Among them, two patients were suffering from post-stroke spasticity. For a long time after their strokes, they had been struggling with stiffness of the limbs, difficulty in movement, and inability to perform daily activities. With the administration of Botox injections, doctors expect a gradual reduction in excessive muscle tightness, improved mobility, and better participation in physiotherapy. The patients expressed visible hope and optimism following the procedure.

The third patient had been battling chronic migraine with severe and recurrent headaches for years. When regular medications failed to provide sufficient relief, Botulinum Toxin therapy emerged as a new ray of hope. The treatment is expected to reduce both the intensity and frequency of migraine attacks.

The injections were administered by Dr. Abir Lal Nath, In-charge Assistant Professor and Neurologist, along with Neurologist Dr. Arpan Mitra of the Neurology Department. Botulinum Toxin therapy is considered highly expensive, but to ensure that financial constraints do not deprive patients of this advanced treatment, the injections are being provided completely free of cost to patients holding BPL cards.

The medical team participating in the procedure included Dr. Abhijit Acharya, Dr. Supratim Saha, Dr. Shubhrajeet Das, Dr. Paulomi Nag, and Dr. Arkaprava Ray Choudhury. Dedicated nursing support was provided by Nursing Officers Sebika Dutta, Rozi Chakraborty, Surajit Sutradhar, Arnica Sinha, Abul Hossain, among others.

This initiative highlights the commitment of AGMC & GBP Hospital to deliver state-of-the-art neurological care and ensure equitable access to advanced treatments for all sections of society.
