Child rescued after tragic mud collapse at Manu Valley Tea Estate

Agartala, 18th December 2025:   A nine-year-old girl narrowly escaped death after a sudden mud collapse at Manu Valley Tea Estate led to a tragic accident while she was playing. The situation turned critical within moments, but swift action by local workers and residents saved her life.

Locals reported that as the soil gave way, the child was trapped under the debris. Residents rushed to the spot, using spades to clear the mud and rescue her. Worker Biswajit Banial played a crucial role in the operation. After pulling the girl out, he immediately administered CPR, which revived her breathing.

The child was given first aid and rushed to a nearby hospital. Later, she was transferred to GB Hospital for advanced treatment. Hospital sources confirmed that she is currently under medical care.

Local residents have praised Banial’s courage and presence of mind, noting that his timely intervention prevented the incident from turning into a greater tragedy.
