Senior officials, including District Magistrate Dr. Vishal Kumar and Paschim Tripura Zilla Sabhadhipati Biswajit Shil, participated in the review.
Following the meeting, District Magistrate Dr. Vishal Kumar informed reporters that all attendees administered an oath to work collectively toward achieving a TB-Free West Tripura. He noted that free screening and diagnostic services are available at every Primary Health Centre, along with free medication for tuberculosis patients. The administration is also placing special focus on providing nutritious food to affected individuals and strengthening community-based initiatives to enhance awareness and patient confidence.
Dr. Kumar emphasized that the district’s strategy rests on three core pillars: social support, nutritional support, and health support.
Reaffirming the commitment, Zilla Sabhadhipati Biswajit Shil said, “Our Prime Minister Narendra Modi has called for TB-Mukt Bharat, and we are working tirelessly toward this—from awareness campaigns to ensuring free health check-ups and medicines.” He appealed to citizens to take an active role in awareness efforts to help achieve the target.
