Agartala, 26th December 2025: A fifth-grade student was reportedly injured after being physically assaulted by a teacher at PM Shree Uttar Debendranagar High School. The injured student has been identified as Preetam Kirtania. Allegations have been made against teacher Debraj Choudhury in connection with the incident. Preetam is currently receiving treatment at GB Hospital.
According to the student’s parents, the teacher severely beat Preetam, causing serious injuries to his head and chest, along with a nosebleed. Due to the worsening condition, the child was immediately taken to the hospital for urgent medical care.
Meanwhile, the accused teacher, Debraj Choudhury, claimed that the students were being mischievous in the classroom. He stated that he only disciplined Preetam lightly to maintain classroom order. Choudhury denied using a cane or any object to hit the student and expressed that the child could not have sustained such severe injuries as a result.
The incident has sparked shock and outrage within the school campus. Parents have voiced strong concerns and demanded a thorough investigation and appropriate action against those responsible.
